What you'll learn in this italian culture class:

In honor of the recent 100th birthday of "Ol' Blue Eyes, this new fantastico! tour pays homage to Frank Sinatra's Italian American heritage and its impact on Los Angeles.   Although L.A. is home to the nation's fifth-largest Italian population, and the Italian presence in the American West pre-date's our nation's founding, seldom is L.A. mentioned in dialogs surrounding contemporary Italian American communities.   Located in the Italian Hall - the oldest remaining building from L.A.'s historic Little Italy, the much-anticipated new Italian American Museum opened this Summer! It features interactive exhibitions of cultural and historical significance that explore the influence of Italians in the region.

After, we'll mangia! an included lunch with choice of entrée at the oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood and one of Sinatra's favorites.  Since 1949, The Miceli's have served up their family recipes brought here from Sicily via Old Chicago. The restaurant is especially adored for its comforting food, Old World charm and singing servers - making this more than just a restaurant but rather a celebration of life!  Save room for dessert at our third destination - a small family-owned and operated Italian restaurant that has made its mark with delicious food and its "shrine" to Frank Sinatra.  When the present-day owner's father was a teenager in Chicago, he became a huge fan of a new singing sensation, Frank Sinatra.  His ultimate thrill in life came in the form of a simple visit of Sinatra to his little known restaurant. Frank was so impressed at the exhibition of pictures, album covers and memorabilia that hung on the walls and tables in his honor, that he granted the owner permission to officially name the storage room-turned dining room, "The Sinatra Room."  Enjoy a delizioso! homemade cannoli and coffee while listening to Sinatra stories and gazing upon this incredible "shrine."

Note: Unless otherwise instructed, your tour guide and motorcoach will pick you up at the Glendale College upper parking lot (Lot B). Please arrive 20-30 minutes prior to departure time to park your car, pay for your parking permit at the kiosk, place your parking permit on your dashboard and board the motorcoach.
