What you'll learn in this kids crafts class:
Craft Kids After School Edition begins with a colorful and fun exploration of design and texture.
*Piñatas de Mexico 4/16 - Using actual piñatas made in Mexico, students practice "observational drawing". The rich colors and textures of this subject inspire young artists to create beautiful pastel compositions.
*Beautiful Bugs and Butterflies 4/23 - Using corrugated cardboard, pipe cleaners, and colored markers, students create and build a whimsical insect or butterfly. Insect anatomy and the use of patterns will be discussed.
* Create a beautiful antique box as a gift for Mother's Day 4/30 - 5/7. This project is a two part lesson on 4/30 and 5/7. In the first class the box will be started and unique water color cards will be created to fit in the box. The second class will include the antique treatment on the box to finish. This project will also include other Mother's day gift projects and will explore watercolor techniques, as well as texture and design.
