Question from Anonymous
Hi, I am looking for a class to learn self- alteration skills. Will you be able to teach me how to alter clothing if I register?
Answer from Kristle C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi, the basic home sewing workshop will teach you how to operate the machine as well as basic alteration like hemming but as far as alter clothing, you will need more than one class to understand basic garment constructions. In this beginner class, you may ask questions which will help you to understand about garment constructions.
Question from Carmen C.
Are there any other locations for the sewing classes?
Answer from Angelica B. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff

It was so fun to not only learn the machine basics but leaving class with a completed item was great! I’ll be taking more classes. Instructor was knowledgeable, positive and encouraging.

It was difficult to find the place- there was no signage. The instructor was very nice and the end result of the project was nice, but all of the pieces were precut which took away from the experience of making something on your own. Also, there are other students working on different projects at the same time with the same instructor and it all feels a bit chaotic.

Had such a blast with the Intro to Home Sewing Class. I emailed them prior asking if I needed any experience with a machine and they got back to me timely and said that I didn't. I ended up being the only one in the class that day so it was really amazing getting one-on-one guidance on how to use my machine (literally had never touched a sewing machine prior to that night). She walked me through EVERYTHING. Now I feel super confident to craft at home and make all the things! So excited for this new skill and for the tote bag I made in class :)

I have never used a sewing machine before and left 2 hours later with the most awesome canvas tote bag (if I do say so myself!) My instructor Jeanine (forgive me if I misspelled) was patient and knowledgeable and explained each step of the way. I could not have asked for a better experience, thank you!!!
