What you'll learn in this sewing machine class:

This class is designed to enlighten the non-sewer on particulars of the industrial sewing machine. The non-sewing (new) student will become intimate with the industrial sewing machine and learn how to use the machine with confidence. The class is reserved for a small group of students so that each student gets sufficient attention from instructor and is able to absorb all information. Ample amount of practice time is provided.​

Students will be provided with material to execute repetitive stitches until student becomes comfortable with machine.​

The class is all hands on and the new student is encouraged to jump in and handle the industrial machine with clear detailed instruction.​​

Mastering the Industrial Sewing Machine: Industrial Single Needle Sewing Machine (lock-stitch)​.

In this class the student will learn the following:
  • How to select proper thread for fabric weight/type.
  • How to select the proper needle for thread and fabric weight.
  • How to turn on the industrial sewing machine
  • How to wind bobbin.
  • How to install bobbin into bobbin case.
  • How to change the needle the industrial sewing machine.
  • How to Thread the industrial sewing machine
  • How to Calibrate thread tension to sew stitches smoothly by testing on fabric.
  • How to change stitch width, S.P.I. (stitches per inch).
  • How to control the speed on the industrial sewing machine.
  • How to Stitch several shapes onto single ply of fabric.
  • How to Back tack.
  • How to change feet the industrial sewing machine.
  • The use of guides, special feet, and other attachments.
  • How to set up you work space for more efficient sewing.​
First Class Materials: Clear ruler 1” x 12”, note pad and pen.

​Practice material is provided to each student.​

Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in for class.​Class starts promptly at scheduled time.​ 

Beginner students may buy a beginners sewing kit.
