Head Drawing

This workshop covers key concepts and a methodical process for drawing the human head, both from observation and imagination.  During the demonstration portion of the workshop, students will be shown how to deal with the proportions of the head from different angles, how to create a sense of depth and solidity, as well as how light and shadow can be utilized to create a quick, finished head drawing.  During the second portion of the workshop, students will work on their own drawings from reference, and will each receive constructive corrections and feedback via Zoom Chat. This workshop is recommended for students of all levels.

Any medium may be used. Students choosing to work with traditional materials who want instructor feedback should have a way of photographing or scanning their work to send in.

Supply List

• Sketchbook or any paper
• Pencils (2B, 4B) and/or Charcoal, colored pencil, polychromos pencil, chalk, etc
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Digital media is accepted (Photoshop, ipad, etc)

This online course requires the use of the Zoom program. You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone (with camera preferred) and internet. 

A Zoom meeting link will be sent up to 24 hours prior to your class start date. If you need help with Zoom, please let us know and we will schedule a short tutorial for you prior to your class.

Students will have access to watch recorded session for 7-days.
