Oh Deer! Necklace Workshop

Oh Deer! is your chance to snag a bronze impression die and pusher tool to design a unique deer head pendant.  This 2-day class will allow you the time to form a beautiful deer head focal, using a die & pusher tool.  Students will have the freedom to design their very own unique and one-of-a-kind dimensional pendants, as I share my “lifted” technique in this class.  

Whether you then decide to add an additional sprinkle of embellishments or not, will be completely up to you; those being small pre-made bezel settings, cast sterling silver flowers, small sterling silver botanicals, or sterling silver raindrops.  Students will have the time to string their chosen set of beads or stones to complete their necklace, then form a beautiful hook and eye, to add to their piece by the end of the workshop.

• Sterling Silver Round Wire, Dead Soft, 16 gauge, 1’
• Sterling Silver Dead Soft Wire, 18-gauge, 1-2’
• Bail Making Pliers, 7 mm x 9 mm 

• Round Nose or Bail Making and Forming Pliers 
• Pro Polish Polishing Pads 
• Sanding Pads or 320 grit/fine sanding pads from Hobby Lobby or local hardware store
• Pencil

• Sterling Silver, Half-hard or Dead Soft, 22-24 gauge (size of gemstone beads & their holes will determine gauge size. Oxidize sterling silver wire at home, if desired)
• Beading Wire.
• Crimping Pliers.

• Jewelers Saw & Saw Blades (I like to use a #3/0 and/or #2/0, but use whatever you like)

Pre-requisite: Enthusiastic Beginner –Intermediate: Students must be skilled in using a Jewelers saw and have soldering experience.  Please contact me if you have the desire, but not quite the required experience.

Additional information:

• Bring a sack lunch or be prepared to make an order for delivery. A refrigerator and water cooler are available for student use.
• Studio Rules: Closed-toe shoes are required. Do not wear loose clothing that could get caught in rotary tools. Wear long hair tied back.
