My love affair with scents started at an early age in tender moments watching my mom get ready for church. Fragrance was her favorite indulgence, her trademark. From the many bottles of perfume, fragrant lotions and powders on her dressing table she carefully picked her scents based on her mood and the occasion then sprayed with abandon. When she stepped out in her finest, smelling like a fragrant bouquet, she was beautiful, confident and on top of the world.

I inherited my mom’s love of fragrance, but could never find the right scent due to my sensitivity to harsh chemicals and that to me, many traditional perfumes smelled artificial. My search for the perfect aroma led me to experiment for years, intuitively blending essential oils to create unique scents by focusing on my emotions, memories and intentions.

As so many of us experience in our careers, my demanding job in the fashion industry was rewarding, but also contributed to clinical depression. I tried to be strong and ignore the warning signs, but not properly dealing with stress led to a mental breakdown. After recovering from that crisis, I dove into my passion for plant-based and natural wellness to literally help save my life.

Through immersive self-study and the Herbal Academy of New England I became an herbalist and aromatherapist. My journey so far has taught me this: Plants have always been there for us, holding a world of magic that helps us express ourselves, heal our bodies and enhance our environment. A formidable yet silent partner whom patiently waits for us to rediscover our own greatness.

The mission of Sayda Naturals is to promote self-care, life balance and healing through aromatherapy and natural wellness.
