Peg Koerselman & David Russon

Teaches at Denver Design Incubator

Peg Koerselman

I’ve been sewing for almost 50 years. I learned on my mom’s post war Singer straight stitch, which I still use exclusively for button holes now with an antique cam attachment. I attended the University of Cincinnati in the Design, Art, and Architecture program, majoring in fashion design. Industrial machines fascinated me, and intimidated me-because I had never been taught how to use them. Almost 30 years ago I teamed in business with a woman who had moved from California to Colorado who patiently taught me the ins and outs of sewing with industrial machines. Hooked, I bought my first industrial machine from Ralph’s 25 years ago. I can’t even imagine trying to sew on a homeowner’s machine anymore. I now own 4, each one accomplishes something different.

David Russon

I am a professional patternmaker and sample maker that aids clients in taking their design dreams and bringing them into reality. As such I work with different fabrics daily and often have to help clients understand why some fabrics function better than others in different applications. I have two degrees. One degree in clothing construction with a focus on flat patterning and alterations from BYU. The second from CSU focused again on patternmaking including draping.
