This course introduces the concepts and techniques of sheet metal modeling within Autodesk Inventor. The topics presented in this course enable users to create features that are specific to the sheet metal modeling process. The structure of the course follows the standard sequence of design stages in Inventor. That is, to create sheet metal parts, edit them, generate flat patterns, and document the designs in drawings.
Students will learn to develop sheet metal rules or styles that control material, gauge, bend allowance (including custom bend tables), relief and tear conditions.
Students will also define standard punch shapes and libraries, cuts, hems, folds and bend features.
Finally students will use unique Inventor tools for sheet metal oriented drawings that contain the folded model, the flat pattern, bend line annotations and tables, and perform custom detailing unique to flat patterns for shop or manufacturing concerns.
Classroom manuals will be provided. Take home manuals are available at an additional cost.
Who Should Attend?Users who need a precise and effective way of creating sheet metal folded parts and flat pattern. They also need to offer the design team, shop, and sales team the ability to accurately and easy depict the sheet metal models for their intended purposes.
Prerequisite: Inventor Part Modeling (INV-101)
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
