Education - Run Right Level 1 Module Descriptions

Module 1: What is Run Right?
What is Run Right? How does learning the intricacies of running change one’s attitude, feeling and desire for running? As a trainer or coach is it your job to teach correct form, injury prevention and the best route towards success for clients or athletes. Run Right will teach you this. Module 1 will go through running and it’s history and how to understand the different verbiage involved in the sport. It will also prep you for the next two big modules ahead.

Module 2: Running in Perfect Form
It will then break the running form down into 4 phases and teach all the different styles of running that can lead to injuries or prevent success in the sport and the reasons why. You will also learn what muscles contribute to the actions desired in running. Learn what and how cadence makes or breaks a run. Along with how the movements in knees and heels create a bicycle wheel like action that can propel you forward without bouncing. Understand stance, posture, breathing and how they all contribute to a freeing form in running. Learn cues and creative ways to teach a person these important components.

Module 3: Putting it into Practice

This is where a trainer can thrive. Learn exercises that help promote strong running form and what to look for to help discover weaknesses. Understand the difference between static and dynamic/active stretching. It’s very important to activate the right muscles at the right time, meaning before or after a run and why. Learn the latest techniques to Self-Care and how you as a trainer and coach can prevent injuries and imbalances.

Module 4
This is a segway module into Level 2. It will teach you the basics of how to create a running program. Learn the verbiage and practice with a case study on program design. This is the part that seals the deal; it will help you train that athlete in a healthy manner towards their goals without risking injury. The prize is in their results based on your knowledge and training!
