Ivan Freaner

Ivan Freaner is an award winning Design Professional and Educator with over a decade of experience. He has honed his skills to bring innovative design and outstanding solutions in branding, UI/UX, Digital Media and Publishing, Motion Graphics and Design Education rooted in the mindset of independent creativity. Ivan caters to a diverse array of clients ranging from top brands to non-profits and government agencies. He is also a creative consultant for various agencies located in New York, San Diego, and Washington D.C.

Ivan Freaner is also a faculty member for the past nine years at New York University teaching a wide variety of design classes for the Department of Design, Digital Arts and Film (DDAF), Center for Publishing Masters Program teaching Digital Publishing Design. He has also taught visual design bootcamps at Metis and Pratt. He is passionate about design, and without passion there can not be any energy to create.

When Ivan is not trying to save the world using photoshop he enjoys sci-fi books, Star Trek, over eating and micheladas!



Brockett Horne

Brockett Horne is a graphic designer who first learned of typography when examining billboards from the backseat of her parents station wagon along I-95 just outside of her hometown. She serves as chair of graphic design at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.

Her creative work is inspired by a desire to encourage the spectator to look intensely. She holds a B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design (with double thesae in art history and graphic design), and is an active member of the AIGA, SEGD, and CAA.

She is a past Rotary International Scholar, has been exhibited and honored with multiple design awards, and has work in the permanent collection of the RISD Museum of Art. Her extensive client list as principal of eyedear studio includes: Baltimore Museum of Art, Johns Hopkins University, Taproot Foundation, Polaris Project, and First Night/First Works. She holds pride in her extraordinary stamina for visiting museums.



Josh Silverman

Josh Silverman is a designer, serial entrepreneur, and relentless optimist. Currently, he is the Founder & CEO of Startnership, a business that helps startups grow by delivering design and marketing tools for a fixed fee and on a fixed timeline. Previously, in 1997 he founded Schwadesign, a network of strategists, designers, and developers curated in project-specific teams to reflect client needs.

Clients include Blue Man Group, the City of Providence RI, Friends of Dana-Farber, AIDS Action Committee of MA, MassEquality, Harvard University Systems Biology PhD Program, Brown University, Buildium.com, and Maurice Sendak. Josh has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, The Boston Globe, and on rebrand.com. He is deeply passionate about new businesses and subversive ideas, and excels at helping entrepreneurs hustle to make their ideas happen.

A passionate networker, for over 20 years he has been an active member of AIGA, was a Centennial Co-Chair, and co-founded the organization’s 48th chapter in Rhode Island. Recently, work with StartOut (a new national non-profit for LGBT entrepreneurs) inspired him to create the national Designtrepreneurs series, part of San Francisco Design Week. He has taught and guest lectured at RISD, MassArt, Lesley University, California College of the Arts, and others, and has served as an advisor to startups and accelerators.

Josh enjoys anything outdoors (especially biking), and spends his free time cooking and getting lost. He is based mostly in San Francisco.



Chloe Negron

Chloe Negron is currently leading mobile product design at The Washington Post. She creates products with clean visuals, simple experiences, and emojis or gifs wherever possible. She sometimes creates illustrations for The Post as well.

She believes that interfaces should be as friendly as the people who use them, and that human-centered design cultivates human-focused products. She has worked with Google, Apple, and Amazon to craft awesome mobile products, and her work has been regularly recognized by the Society for News Design.



Shawn Sprockett

Shawn Sprockett is a Principal Designer at Airbnb, Design Advisor to Axiom Zen, and a Lead Instructor at General Assembly. His work has spanned a wide breadth of industries over the last ten years, from Victoria's Secret to Google-backed startups. He has trained under legendary designers, like Milton Glaser and Stefan Sagmeister. He's also been a part of big business transformations like Conde Nast's shift to mobile publications and IBM's implementation of design-thinking at scale.

Shawn has an MFA in Design + Entrepreneurship from the School of Visual Arts. Lately, he's been working on projects that intersect microinteractions, behavioral psychology, and mobile patterns. He recently spoke at SXSW 2015 on "Design Perspectives on Meaningful Choice."



Dani Kennedy

Dani Kennedy is a creative professional with a passion for taking concepts and bending them to her will to create an optimal experience for the end user. She has worked in both New York and San Francisco, for companies in the beauty, luxury, and design industries, including Estée Lauder and Pantone. She has also run her own studio, Lima Bean Creative, for more than a decade with clients large and small, including Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Conde Nast. Dani studied design at the School of Visual Arts, the College of New Jersey, and New York University.
