Samantha was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas. She fell in love with dancing at the age of 5 after attending a Folklorico (Mexican Folk dance) show her cousins were in. After ten years of Folklorico, Hip Hop, and Bellydance, Ballroom was introduced at the age of 16. Over the years, she has trained with Mayo Alanen, Felipe Telona, Carolina Orlovsky-Telona, Nazar Norov, Inna Berlizyeva, Benoit Papineau, Donovan Dominguez, Hannah Cole, and many more.
Samantha has performed, competed, and placed, both, locally and nationally. She has won various titles and awards at competitions, and prides herself on always doing the best she can when she hits the dance floor. She has worked and danced for the Shundo Dance Studio, Sunland Dance Studio, NMSU DanceSport Company, and now, Chicago dance. What is distinctive about her teaching method is the attention she gives to analyzing the steps and dissecting how movement is generated through the body.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Dance from New Mexico State University. She is also DVIDA certified in the Bronze American Smooth and Bronze American Rhythm dances.
