  Class was a great introduction to stone carving from an artist who is an expert in the medium. Class was well thought out, taxing on the body, but a great experience overall. Jyl was kind and created a wonderful space to create.

  Jyl is amazing! I had so much fun learning to sculpt at this class. Really liked the small class size very intimate and you get a lot of 1:1 assistance as you create your masterpiece. Highly recommend.

  I had an absolutely great time. Jyl is an amazing teacher, and thanks to her I've made great progress in just a matter of one day. She really understood what I was trying to build, and helped me throughout the day to get there. I highly recommend the course.

  Loved this class! Jyl is a fantastic teacher who knows her craft extensively, and pays close attention to all of her students. I found her class structure to be great, and she knew how to help all of us achieve our goals in a limited time. Her stone carving workshop is physical and I left with a little sculpture I am quite happy with, and a newfound love for sculpting. Highly recommend to those who have an interest in learning the craft and want to focus on sharpening their skills in only a day!

  Jyl was very helpful and made sure we had a feel for how much progress we should be making (important since we were mostly beginners who'd never worked in stone before). Parking pretty easy in the neighborhood, and an area in the building sells coffee and gives you room to eat your lunch.

  Wonderful class. Jyl is an excellent teacher. While it is a beginner class, the progression you see from beginning to end is astounding! If you are seeking a creative outlet and don't mind a little dust and some sore muscles, you would be hard pressed to find a better class!

  While challenging, Jyl did an excellent job navigating the group through all of the steps to create a stone masterpiece. I would definitely recommend the class and maybe even take it again!

  Truly a one of a kind experience! After just a few swings of your hammer and chisel, you immediately get a sense of how incredible the great master stone carvers were. As rewarding as this class was, be warned, it is not for the faint of heart…it’s a workout! Jyl is not only a skilled artist, she’s also a great hands on instructor. Definitely recommend!

  Working with stone is challenging but super rewarding in the end. Jyl is a great teacher, she provided guidance for each student so they can fully realize their vision. I was pretty amazed at what we were all able to accomplish in a single day. All 5 students in the class were able to complete their pieces with time to take photos and chat. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to try something special and unique.

  This was so much more fun than we could have imagined!! Super educational too. Jyl is a fantastic teacher and extremely talented. So cool being able to bring home our sculptures the same day. We can’t wait to sign up for another one of Jyl’s classes soon!

  Had a great time! Much more comprehensive than I expected and we were given a great opportunity to explore the craft process from start to finish. Jyl was a fantastic teacher and really did a good job of working with each student at their individual skill level and direction, a trait which not all artists possess. I felt like a potential student could sign-up for the course having little or lots of background in the arts and spend a fine day getting to know the materials and exploring their own gestures and expression in the craft with the full support of teacher and classmates. A great time for sure and well worth the cost, especially considering the materials provided, tools available for use and super interesting studio space in which to work.
