Students with basic graphic design skills and prior Adobe Illustrator experience explore uses of the application to create sophisticated designs and illustrations. Beginning with a review of important functions and tools, demonstrations and in-class projects present more advanced topics including transparency, feathering, masking, compound paths, gradients, layering techniques, and the specifics of the pen tool.
Attention will be given to exporting files to other applications and platforms including, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and the web.
Prerequisite(s): Introduction to Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
Access to a computer with Adobe Illustrator installed is required. A free 7-day trial and monthly subscription are available at adobe.com/illustrator.
Note: This online course will combine live sessions with independent work time. The Canvas learning management system and Zoom video conferencing platform will be used to access course content and communicate with the instructor and peers.
