Shimmy Madness

Shimmy Madness is exactly what it sounds like! 

Shimmying is fun and a huge crowd pleaser but variety is the spice of life. This class practices every shimmy in the book to make them big, powerful, and juicy, also practicing the small, subtle and demur as well. Enhances any style of belly dance! 

During this class you will be constantly moving to build the stamina and muscle needed to differentiate between your growing vocabulary of shimmies. Also practiced will be layering shimmies over everything from upper body undulations, to hip work and even footwork. Ellen says, “It can be done! It just takes practice. This class is challenging but all levels are welcome. Any and all moves can be modified for any level of experience. Get a workout while you drill yourself to perfect technique. Come shimmy with me -- it's my favorite thing to do!”

We recommend you bring a small towel & perhaps a yoga mat for end of class stretching. 

Prerequisite: No prior dance experience is necessary for this class however if you've never taken any belly dance you should complete 1 7-week session of INTRO to Belly Dance first.
