Teen Camp: Baking and Pastry

Kids aged 12 to 16 are invited to a five-day baking and pastry camp where they'll master approachable yet sophisticated desserts. From classic pies and tarts to innovative French pastry techniques, each day unfolds new skills in measuring, organization, and creativity. Working in teams, students will learn to craft everything from frosted strawberry jam hand pies to chocolate cupcakes with gooey ganache centers, enhancing their baking prowess and presentation skills.

What you'll learn in this dessert class:
Learn classic French recipes with modern day baking techniques. In this hands-on course you will prepare five items from Julia Child’s 1961 classic cook book Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
Items to be prepared include:
Participants should wear closed–toe non skid shoes and long pants in all hands-on workshops. Please avoid wearing loose jewelry and clothing. Kendall will provide safety instructions, but the College is not liable for personal injury.

- Chocolate Mousse
- Vanilla Soufflé
- Pâte Brisée Sucrée
- La Tarte Des Demoiselles Tatin (upside down apple tart)
- Tarte au Formage Frais (cream cheese tart)
- Le Quatre Quarts (butter pound cake)

A full refund will be issued for any class cancellation up to seven days prior to the class date. No exchanges will be given to cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the class date. If the same class is not listed for a later date, a refund can be issued.
