What you'll learn in this cooking techniques class:
“It’s Christmas in the Caribbean, snow birds fill the air, it’s Christmas in the Caribbean, good feelings everywhere.” –Jimmy Buffett. Celebrate the holiday season and take the chill out of the air with the culturally diverse and mouth-watering cuisine of the Caribbean in this hands-on class.
Menu:
- Hearts of Palm and Avocado Salad with Lime Vinaigrette
- Jamaican Jerk Chicken with Coconut Rice
- Fried Plantains
- Spiced Pineapple Bread Pudding (Pudín de Pan)
Skills covered in class:
- Getting familiar with Caribbean cuisine and ingredients
- Selecting and cutting avocados
- Making vinaigrette
- Balancing flavors
- Selecting chicken
- Working with fresh herbs and spices
- Steaming rice
- Making and baking custard
In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.

All classes have a 4 business days cancellation policy, except Culinary Boot Camps which have a 16 business days cancellation policy.
You must email us at [email protected] to cancel an existing reservation, but please note the 15% service fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you cancel within 4 business days, you will not receive a refund or credit for your class, but feel free to send a guest in your place. Our credit card refund policy is 90 days. If your purchase was made prior to that, you will receive an account credit, not a refund to your credit card.
Please note:
- All virtual class sales are final.
- All virtual students will receive a recording of the class within 48 hours of the class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
