Thrumori Weaving Quick Starts On Cricket Looms (Berwyn)

Students will work on pre-dressed portable looms and receive instruction on basic loom operation and support throughout the weaving process. Each person be encouraged to weave from a place of exploration and intuition, designing their "Thrumori" at the loom. 

"Thrumori" is Tammy's term for a textile woven by recycling "Thrums" (weaver's warp ends previously considered discards) New weavers have free-choice from our eclectic fiber collection of colors and textures (including ooak hand-painted and metallic ends) all included in the class fee. 

Basic class is 5 studio hours (evening class is two sessions of 2.5 hrs) and the piece is removed from the loom for you unless you'd like additional sessions to weave a longer textile. You may decide near the end of your session.

Possible use for your Thrumori textile include: 

• wall art /hanging
• decorative pillow front
• quilt piecing
• garment panel (cuffs, collar, lapel or waist banding)
• envelope purse or mini tote
• additional sessions may yield an artful neck scarf
• table runner or waist sash/belt

Notes:

• Additional weaving sessions on the same piece you started (2 hour increments for $15ea) are available day, evening or weekends scheduled with Tammy. 
• This Weaving class may be repeated as many times as you like. Schedule to attend with up to 3 friends and BYOB if you like!
