What you'll learn in this quilting class:

You’ll get five 2-hour sessions of the basics of quilting & the use of our new machines. The classes will begin with fabric selection & color theory, then will cover a general overview of quilting with hands-on demos of the basic tools & techniques, such as rotary cutting & strip piecing, and end with methods to sandwiching, quilting & binding for a finished quilt.

You’ll learn to make two classic quilts - the Rail Fence and the Nine Patch. Geared toward new quilting customers, the class size is small so you will be able to work closely with your instructor.

Have fun, learn to quilt & in the process create beautiful keepsakes!

Question from Martha F.
Is it okay to sign up for the class despite having no previous experience using a machine?
Answer from Kyna N. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi! There is a suggested prerequisite for the Beginning Quilting class to have either taken Beginning Sewing class or to have some basic sewing and sewing machine knowledge. The quilting class briefly starts with learning how to use the particular machine the school offers for use. Students who have sewn clothes in the past or home décor or alterations but never quilted will get along fine in beginning quilting class.

Course was cancelled after first lesson, after purchasing $200+ in supplies in the shop (they said we had to buy everything from them). No refund, no credit, etc. offered -- I think I had to call to even ask if the course was going to continue. I emailed them to see if they could offer the course on video instead, but that does not appear to be an option. Disappointed in the experience, I don't really want to go back, I think I will find somewhere else to learn or go it alone.
