What you'll learn in this acrylic painting class:

This course will introduce students to acrylic painting through the exploration of traditional and contemporary approaches to the medium. Through demonstrations, individual dialogue, class discussions, and critiques, students will learn how to work with the acrylic paints. 

Artists including Mark Bradford, Helen Frankenthaler, and Mark Rothko will provide inspiration as participants complete a series of paintings on paper, canvas, and wood. 

Reminder: 
This one-week intensive meets Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with opportunities to work evenings in supervised studios. 

A leader in educating artists, designers, and scholars since 1866, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) offers nationally accredited degree programs as well as Continuing Studies programs for adults and children, ages 4-18. Considered one of the most influential art and design schools in the world, SAIC has continuing studies programs available to all skill levels. Students develop their creative and critical abilities while working with renowned faculty, utilizing state-of-the-art resources, and visiting the breath-taking galleries at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Refund Policy
FOR ADULTS:
  • 100 percent tuition refund prior to the second class.
  • No refunds will be issued after the second class.
FOR KIDS:
  • 100 percent tuition refund prior to Friday, May 13.
  • 100 percent tuition refund less $100 cancellation fee after May 13 and prior to the second class.
  • No refunds will be issued after the second class has met.
Any requests for exceptions to the cancellation policy as stated above must be submitted in writing and accompanied by the school's refund exception form which will be sent to you by CourseHorse after we receive your request.
