Michael Shinagel & Laura Wilcox

Michael Shinagel is a Distinguished Service Lecturer and the recipient of the Petra T. Shattuck Excellence in Teaching Award. He served as dean of the Division of Continuing Education and University Extension at Harvard from 1975 to 2013, and was editor of the Continuing Higher Education Review and publisher of the Harvard Review. Shinagel is a recipient of the Nolte Award for Extraordinary Leadership from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association and the Special Recognition Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education.

Laura Wilcox is the director of management programs at Harvard Extension School. For over two decades, she has held a variety of management and student services positions at top-tier universities, including Harvard and MIT Sloan School of Management. Her portfolio includes conducting faculty search and promotions, student advising, and policy development. Wilcox has been a committee member and planner for key industry-wide conferences in the areas of student services and higher education. She holds a master's degree in education from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a master's degree in management from Harvard Extension School.
