Jennifer Olsen, b. 1984, is a documentary photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work is grounded in the relationships she establishes with her subjects and focuses on the story of the individual beyond the headline. Olsen graduated Suny New Paltz with a BFA in Photography and a minor in sociology. After working for Steve McCurry, Olsen set out on her own shooting for clients including save the children, sustainable harvest, and cotton tree eco-lodge. Olsen has also been a guest lecturer with Webster university, a mentor with leave out the violence (love), and a blogger for the world photography organisation. Her most recent work has taken her to Barbados, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Haiti.
Jeromy is a wonderful teacher. My skills are limited and he has a kind and considerate way of explaining things in an easy and simple way without judgement. I will definitely take another class :) P.
