Gilmore's Driving School

The Gilmore family founded the school in March 2010 at our original location in Boylston. We now have two locations: our main office in Holden, and our Shrewsbury classroom at the Christmas Tree Shops. Mr. Gilmore is full-time at the driving school and has a Master's in Finance, sports coaching experience, was formerly the General Manager of another driving school, and has been an active RMV-certified driving instructor since 2006. Mrs. Gilmore is a full-time RN at Shrewsbury Nursing Home, but also helps out on Saturdays. The driving school is the only business that we own, and we are 100% devoted to providing the best quality driver education available anywhere. At Gilmore's, all proceeds are reinvested into the driving school. Since you don't pay for six-figure salaries or vacation homes, you'll enjoy lower prices and have newer, more comfortable and safer cars to drive. Unlike big corporations that treat you like a number, we're highly focused on just one thing: providing the best possible experience to our driver education students, including the highest road test passing rate in the Worcester area. 100% of our costs are paid by student tuition: we receive ZERO taxpayer funding for our program or facilities.

Our Philosophy

We aim to save lives by providing the best driver training in the area regardless of price. We go above and beyond to provide a superior-quality education. Only top-performing, experienced instructors are hired - we don't do training with trainees! We're fully licensed, insured, and bonded, and our program is 100% focused on quality driver education with unrelated subjects omitted. The safety of all road users is our first priority, using the latest techniques to train you to anticipate and prevent hazards, rather than just react to them. Our very high road test passing rates are a testament to the competence and confidence of our graduates.
