What you'll learn in this tour class:

The perfect counterpart to the City View Tour, it’s the Tour de Cambridge!

On this tour, you’ll cross the Charles River and enter the City of Cambridge. Renowned as one of America’s most bicycle-friendly cities, you will experience the atmosphere and appeal of Cambridge as only possible on two wheels. Touted as “Boston’s Left Bank,” Cambridge is a hotspot of arts and home to MIT and Harvard University.

This extensive tour, designed to show you the best of Cambridge, includes:
  • Harvard Square, the heart of America’s oldest university
  • Central Square, a vibrant center of music and culture
  • The beautiful Charles River, with views of the Boston Skyline
  • The Stata Center, Frank Gehry’s only building in Massachusetts
  • MIT, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology
All of our tours include an individually-fitted bicycle, helmet, water, and, of course, a friendly and knowledgeable guide who will lead you on your travels. From the cycling paths on the Charles River to the booming industry of Kendall Square, this tour will show you the most exciting and vibrant parts of Cambridge!

Important Things to Note:

Meeting Place and Check In Time
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the tour to sign paperwork and be fitted for your bike and helmet. Late arrival may result in your space on tour being given away. If you are unable to attend, please contact us immediately.
  • Boston can be a difficult city to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the area! Leave plenty of time for navigating and plan a route ahead of time.
What to Wear
  • Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather including appropriate footwear - sneakers with good tread are best. Dress in layers for cooler weather or when there is a chance of precipitation.
  • Please do NOT wear skirts, dress shoes, high heels, large purses, or any loose-fitting clothes that could get caught in the bike's chain.
  • Forget something? Colder than you expected? We have a bike shop stocked with quality cycling apparel and accessories - arrive early and we'll get you set up. If you take a tour with us, we offer 20% off apparel and accessories at our shop!
Additional Information
  • About half of the biking on this tour is on bike/pedestrian paths (away from cars) along the Charles River. This tour is not recommended for those who are not comfortable cycling on city streets, but we welcome families with children who are 10 and older and are confident cyclists.
  • We do not allow tandem bikes, burley trailers, or trail-a-bikes on this tour.
  • While our tour guides will provide water, you might consider bringing a sports drink or snack. In the summer months, sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended. Any luggage, large bags, or bulky jackets can be left at the shop during the tour
