What you'll learn in this oil painting class:

Learn the fundamental skills of oil painting through drawing and painting still life. Color relationships, composition and oil painting technique will be emphasized.

Students are responsible for providing their own supplies.

Supply List:
  • Oil Paints (Suggested Colors: Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow, Viridian, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Mars Black , Titanium White)
  • Walnut or Linseed Oil
  • Flat Synthetic Brushes (1/8-inch, 1/4-inch, 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, 1-inch)
  • Round Brushes (#2, #6, one Filbert #5)
  • One Small Synthetic Fan Blender
  • One Household 2-inch Brush (from local hardware store)
  • Palette Knife (Trowel-Shaped, small)
  • Two Glass Containers with Lids (to hold walnut or linseed oil while painting)
  • Plastic or Disposable Paint Palette (10x13”)
  • Storage Box (tackle or tool box)
  • Prepared Canvas Board or Stretched (12x16” or 16x20”)
  • Rags
