April Vacation Camp

Join us every morning during April vacation to learn the amazing art of Glass Mosaics. At the end of this four day session you will leave with a beautiful glass mosaic mirror. On April 18th, class will begin at 10am with a lesson in glass safety.Next, kids will learn how to handle glass in a safe manner, that will allow them to work with confidence to create glass art. We will spend approximately half an hour learning how to cut glass. The lesson will begin with straight lines, including different polygonal shapes. Then the students will graduate to curved lines and on-to circles. The kids will learn to use a variety of glass working tools including a grinder.Once the participants have completed the glass cutting lesson we will move on to glass selection.Each child will have the opportunity to hand select the colors and textures that he/she would like to decorate the mirror. Each student will receive the mirror, as a base for decoration.The students will spend day two and three cutting, laying out, and gluing the glass onto their mirror.On day four, the students will learn how to grout, and finish their mosaic mirrors.
