Beyond Basics: Sew a Date Night Skirt

Okay, so you've got the basics of sewing down, but you've been wanting to build upon your skills and try your hand at sewing garments. This workshop was design with you in mind. Best of all, you'll leave with thecutest skirt ever to showcase your newly learned skills.

In this 2-hour workshop you will learn:

• How to sew a skirt based on your measurements
• How to work with elastic and sew an elastic casing
• How to sew French seams, for a professional finish inside of your garment
• How to sew a hem

Skill requirements: This workshop is suited for those with some basic sewing experience, such as threading a machine and sewing a seam.

Material requirements:
Please bring the following:

• 1 yard of fabric (up to a 36" waist) or 1.5 yards of fabric (up to a 54" waist). Suitable fabric options: chambray, shot cotton, quilting weight cotton, cotton lawn. No knits, please.
• 1 package (1.25 yards) of 1" knit elastic up to 36" waist, or 2 packages of elastic for up to 54" waist.
• Fabric marking pen or pencil
• Matching thread
