Description
What you'll learn in this sewing class:
In this two week beginner class, you will learn the basics of hand stitching by making a simple throw pillow. In the first class, we will cover techniques for drafting, cutting, and sewing different patterns of your own choosing or design, and in the second class we will stitch them into pillows and stuff them. This will give you the introduction you need to start sewing small projects by hand, as well as the first steps of hand piecing if you would like to get started making quilts by hand.
Note: Supplies are not included in the fee. A supply list will be e-mailed to students 2 weeks before class; call (212) 729-4088 with any questions. Beginning one week before the first class, students receive a 15% discount on most merchandise in our store, not limited to what is relevant to the class.

Students may withdraw from a class up to 7 days before it starts, and receive a full refund less a $3.00 administrative fee; after that, refunds will only be made if a replacement student can be found. Please plan to attend all sessions; there are no make-up classes.

Instructor did give clear instructions but I would like it better if on the first day we could practice the running stitch on a practice muslin to make sure it's done properly, particularly when joining more 2 pieces, as it's best to sew some (or most) of the pieces for the class project at home, especially if the self-chosen project has a lot of pieces to sew. Otherwise chosen project won't be finish at end of class.
