Description
What you'll learn in this photography class:
In this class, students will apply the simple chemistry of photo-sensitive iron-salts to create images on both paper and fabric. Through examples and technical guidance, Miles will point in the direction of this medium's tremendous experimental potential on other surfaces and with different kinds of photo-negatives.
Cyanotype is an alternative, analog photographic process. It also goes by the names of "blueprint" and "sun print", producing images in a deep cyan through the simple condition of UV light exposure.
Our workshops are designed as both professionally intensive and communally fun introductions to printmaking. Our larger service is to equip artists with the knowledge of how to combine traditional printmaking and the resource of a community printmaking studio with their own work.
It is recommended that students bring photographs or photo negatives as well as fine-arts papers that they would like to test in the process.
