Summer Immersion Program

“SIP” is a 3 Week – 17 Session Theatre Training Program that is an immersion into a professional summer workshop production of Three Act Theatre Company. By audition only, a select cast of students will receive Triple Threat Training, designed to offer technique training for the singer/dancer/actor that will prepare them for musical theatre auditions & performances in their future, allowing them the room to reach their own individual next level of mastery. Within each discipline there will be attention paid to the development of character & acting choices that are living inside of the music, words, and movement.

This BY AUDITION ONLY program offers the very unique opportunity to train side by side with adult company members & guest artists. They will then perform with them in the premiere workshop production of the new musical being developed in 2016 by Three Act Theatre Company. During the first two weeks of the immersion program they will have morning classes/training, building performance skills in singing, acting & dancing. In the afternoon students will have the opportunity to learn from and work along side the adult Three Act Theatre Company members in rehearsal!

They will stage & rehearse an original musical written expressly for TATC which incorporates adult company members & students actors into the same production – working side by side on stage! There will be a total of 4 public performances Saturday, July 30th – Sunday, July 31st .

NOTE: special consideration for the casting of a future professional run of the show will be given to student performers who were a part of the original company that helped develop the work at camp in July 2016!

Every day, students will have morning classes that prepare & train them physically and vocally for the task of become a Triple Threat in Musical Theatre. Each class will begin with technique building & continue to move towards repertoire for our workshop production, to be performed at the end of the three weeks.

There will be a free time/lunch hour from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm each day, where students will be required to bring their own lunch/or be able to buy it during a supervised trip to the nearest deli or restaurant. In the afternoon sessions, students will have the opportunity to learn from and work along side the adult TATC members in rehearsals.

Schedule Breakdown:

• Week 1: Vocal, Actor & Dance Training; Afternoon music rehearsal & ensemble work
• Week 2: Continued training classes; Afternoon choreographic/staging work
• Week 3: Audition workshop; final staging/choreography; tech/dress & performances

Final Performances:
Upon ending the 3-week program, student & adult performers will perform together in a workshop production of the new musical developed by TATC. Tech & Dress Rehearsals Thursday, July 28th & Friday, July 29th. Performances Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st (exact times TBA). Celebration & Reception between shows on Sunday, July 30th for cast & families.
