Cocktails & Creativity: BYOB 2 Paintings in 4 Nights
I loved this course so much; it was literally the highlight of my week and Im so bummed its over. Jake was an awesome teacher. He applies just the right balance of instruction and autonomy. His approach allowed us to learn the techniques but also have the freedom to express ourselves in a unique and fluid way. The setting was so relaxing with easy listening music on in the background, and the option to sip wine while we paint. Also, the small size of the group enabled Jake to give us each the perfect amount of individual attention. I have been to other painting studios for classes like this and the Art Studio is by far my favorite. I live in Queens so the commute is a little taxing but I will continue going there because I had such a great experience for the 4 week class. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this class and the Art Studio to anyone interested in trying something creative...and I have already been telling anyone who will listen about it!!

Couple's Date Night Painting Class Party

The class was great! Jake was a great instructor. He really gave some good advice and demonstration to both my girlfriend and myself. He provided a good balance of one-on-one time and class lessons.

The space is large and airy and a nice setup. The teacher was terrific. I learned a lot of things I didn't know about acrylic painting. I felt very comfortable in the class. I would definitely go back again. I think the price was more than a bargain considering what we got in return. All the materials were supplied, including the canvas and those aprons are so adorable. Our teacher had everything ready for us and all we had to do was paint. She even offered me a can of diet coke because I had forgotten my water. I love CourseHorse. I think it is great.

Great class! - nice, motivating and capable teacher. Step-by-step instruction. - feasible assignment: we had three hours to complete a painting. Everybody in class finished it. - materials were good - wine was good ;-) There's also room for improvement: - the studio is quite small and there were a lot of students. Little crowded. - you can buy a canvas in the studio which costs $10. That's a good deal (I went to several stores to look for a canvas, they were all more expensive), but it would be nice if they would indicate this price in the confirmation e-mail you get.

1-Day Drawing Class at The Met
Jake Premo is a great teacher. He gives you the freedom to choose a subject of your interest, and gives very appropriate guidance for your specific skill level. He is very encouraging! I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to start out or get back into exploring their drawing ability.
