What you'll learn in this jewelry class:

Stones and ring samples will be provided for this workshop and students will learn how to measure the stones, which drills to use, how to create a bearing (seat) for the stone, and even how to make your own tool for setting.

This modern looking setting is very comfortable to wear, has a wonderful stylistic look, and provides many design options – from using little tiny sparklers set randomly in the surface of a piece, to even placing gemstones set on the sides of a bezel for a larger stone. In this “step-by-step” workshop you will look at incorporating stone setting techniques into jewelry design, and learn Gypsy (flush) setting technique.

Prerequisite: Silversmithing experience required.

Attended: Ring Making Intensive

There were a lot of students in the class...it was 10:1 student teacher ratio!! I read that other students got to make more than 1 ring...I kinda wished I could make 2! The teacher was pretty cool though, very helpful and funny, but had to wait in a mini line to get his attention :(

Attended: Steel Fabrication

This was a great class! I am an absolute novice when it comes to jewelry design, but the teacher was very patient and clear in his explanations, and the other students were so enthusiastic about their projects. The space is a really good one to work in. I never felt crowded. They have plenty of tools & resources available to use, but you should bring your own files and saw. Overall I would recommend this class to both beginners and advanced jewelry makers who want to learn more about the specific properties of working with steel. Bryce was very knowledgable and loved to discuss his craft.

Attended: Bangle Bracelets Intensive

Great class with a very organized, knowledgeable, skillful, and patient teacher! I was especially impressed with how she taught soldering--which isn't an easy thing to teach. The fact that there were only five students allowed her to give each of us individual instruction and assistance. I am very happy with the bracelets I made, and I know what I need to do next to improve my next bracelets.

Attended: Wax Carving I

The instructor was so nice and really took the time to help everyone. I intend to sign up for the metal smithing class in the fall. I would recommend anyone to take a class there or just visit and see the showroom.
