What you'll learn in this excel training:

Students will learn to extract data from large databases based on dynamic criteria, save time with recording and replaying straight forward macros, quickly organize and analyze large amounts of raw data with Pivot Tables and Charts and increase their Excel knowledge with efficiency techniques, advanced formulas and collaborating techniques.

This is a hands-on, in-person, instructor-led class.

Prerequisites: Those who have taken our "Excel for Business" Course or has equivalent knowledge. Please note, that you will not do well in this class if you are uncomfortable with less than 80% of or our Excel for Business class. You will generally need about 14- 16 hours of Excel class time from other training schools to compare with our Excel for Business class.

  • Extracting database information quickly

  • Match formula- returning the position of a cell 
  • Index Formula- returning values at the intersection of a row and column. 
  • Combining the VLookup and Match formulas to create a modifiable database lookup. 
  • Combining and nesting the Index and Match
Lesson 4 - Commonly used functions 
  • Commenting cells 
  • Protecting documents 
  • Saving workspace and multiple worksheets
  • Saving documents as templates
  • Sending spreadsheets for review 
  • Copying and pasting only unique records from a database list

  • If statement 
  • Using the If statement to sum and analyze

  • Today and Now functions to auto insert today's date and time upon opening a document
  • Numbering databases that will be sorted with the ROWS() function

Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of this course and may retake the same course as many times as they want.

Cancellation Policy

  • No charge for substituting students at any time.

Eddie comes with over 10 years in the Import- Export Industry, developing and supporting software application solutions, currently in use for complex calculations, involving Industry type Logistical Ocean Freight handling, Project cargoes, Intermodal, stevedoring, and warehousing all with the use of MS Office applications such as Excel, Access, VBA, built into an Industry made very efficient software application. In addition to the involvement of managerial/financial responsibilities, as to compile business progress into a computer generated reports, reflecting data affecting the profitability, and the accuracy of records/transactions involved on daily operations. Customers currently requesting such services, and assistance, to name a few: Discover Freight Forwarder and Container Innovations.

His experience has built a very capable and very resourceful reliable trainer, whose knowledge of MS Office has become a major asset. Eddie's experience puts practical knowledge into perspective and allows us to bring a deep knowledge to each training.

Attended: Advanced Excel Power Users 2010

I thought this class was a wonderful overview of ways to improve your efficiency in using excel and touched upon some Macros and match index examples at the end. The teacher was good and it was only me and one other person so we were able to ask a lot of questions.

This was really nice boot camp to me. I learned a lot of basic menu and concept of photoshoto, which were much more than I originally expected. The course had just a few people and I could ask any kind of questions and the pace of learing is pretty confortable. recommended!
