Crochet 101
What you'll learn in this crochet class:
Do you know a little bit about crochet but are bored with the limitations of flat surfaces? Take Sculptural Crochet and learn how to build spaces and forms in 3D.Instead of focusing on an end product, this 4-session class will focus on how taking risks and giving ourselves the freedom to "just play" opens up possibilities in our creative practice.
Prerequisite: Students should have some basic knowledge of crochet. Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. Our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime!
Required Materials: Students must supply their own needles, hooks and yarn. The instructor will contact you about specific materials necessary.

Leather Working - Weekend Intensive
This course was really fantastic. I learned a lot of skills is such a short amount of time and I really enjoyed every second of it. Kat, the instructor, is phenomenal. She gave individualized attention to each person and really was knowledgable and helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn how to make small leather goods, or just wants to learn a new skill.

Leather Working - Weekend Intensive
The class was great! We learned lots of great techniques and each had as much one-on-one time with Kat (the teacher) as we needed. We were also able to modify the preplanned projects to fit our preferences. I came out of the class with three piece I actually like so I would say it was a success. If you are signing up (which you should) I would recommend bringing a couple yards of leather, as there was a limited supply of large pieces. All leather-working tools were provided as well as a list of places to get everything we need to do it ourselves in the future.

Sewing 101: Reclaim Your Closet
Given the small class size, the teacher was able to give each participant personal attention and help with their individual project(s). In addition to working on your own project, a portion of each lesson is spent on learning and practising various sewing/alteration techniques. Also outside of class hours you are given access to the studio to further work on your projects. The Manhattan studio is comfortable and adequately equipped. It is easy to get to - just a three minute from Washington Sq Station. All in all this was a great experience and good value for money. I also met a great group of people that I will keep in touch with.
