If you are getting ready for a career as an entry-level information technology (IT) professional or personal computer (PC) service technician, the CompTIA® A+® Certification course is the first step in your preparation. The course will build on your existing user-level knowledge and experience with personal computer software and hardware to present fundamental skills and concepts that you will use on the job. In this course, you will acquire the essential skills and information you will need to install, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and perform preventative maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems.

Course Objective
You will learn to install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on basic personal computer hardware and operating systems.

Course Materials
Delivered on 1 GB Flash Memory Drive. 24 Chapters covering both exams. Many illustrations, drawings, and photographs. Over 1400 Practice Test Questions, crossword puzzles, matching exercises, etc. Notes and highlighting are done directly in the electronic book.

Certification Exam
Students who wish to take the A+ Certification exams must schedule and pay for the exams on their own through Pearson Vue (a Comptia testing partner).

Target Student
The target student is anyone with basic computer user skills who is interested in obtaining a job as an IT professional or PC technician. Possible job environments include mobile or corporate settings with a high level of face-to face client interaction, remote-based work environments where client interaction, client training, operating systems, and connectivity issues are emphasized, or settings with limited customer interaction where hardware activities are emphasized. In addition, this course will help prepare students to achieve a CompTIA A+ Certification.

Prerequisites
Students taking this course should have the following skills: End-user skills with Windows-based personal computers, including the ability to: Browse and search for information on the Internet. Start up and shut down the computer. Log on to a computer and computer network. Run programs. Move, copy, delete, and rename files in Windows Explorer. Basic knowledge of computing concepts, including: The difference between hardware and software. The functions of software components, such as the operating system, applications, and file systems.The function of a computer network.

Refund Policy

Cancellation / Reschedule by Student

Because we must schedule rooms, ship course materials, assign instructors and provision computer resources well in advance, it is important students alert us ASAP with any cancel/reschedule requests.

Please note the following policies:

  • If requested 16 or more calendar days before the class
    • Cancellation requests made in this timeframe are eligible for refund less 5% cancellation fee.
    • Reschedule requests made in this timeframe will be accommodated if availability exists and will be processed at no additional charge.
  • If requested 15 calendar days or less before the class
    • Cancellation or Reschedule requests made by the student 15 calendar days or less before the class starts will be charged 100% the course fee and are not entitled to a refund.

Substitutions

  • If you are unable to attend your class, a substitute who meets the course prerequisites may attend in your place at no additional charge for the original class title, date and location. If you cannot find a substitute, you will be subject to the class cancellation policy.

Make-up Policy

Students are permitted one (1) Make-Up opportunity to attend an instructor-led class that was paid for but not previously attended for no additional charge.

  • Make-Up class registrations are subject to availability and are not entitled to refund.
  • Students may not reschedule a Make-up class registration.
  • Any no shows or cancellations forfeit their one Make-up opportunity.

Additionally, ONLC reserves the right to retire courses due to lack of demand. Retired classes are not available for Make-Up.

In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
