Basic conversation, reading, listening and writing skills will be taught including tones and the Romanized version of Chinese, pin-yin.
Level 3 is for those who are beginning to gain some confidence in basic Mandarin as well as the initial vocabulary needed for conversation on a limited range of topics. In Level 3, the professor focuses on application of the core concepts of earlier levels, accuracy in pronunciation and conversational ability. Level 5 is for those who are starting become comfortable building more complex sentences and holding short conversations.
Students enrolled in this class will learn to pronounce all the Chinese pinyin correctly. Also students can create thousands of sentences in Chinese by themselves.
The course covers grammar, reading and writing practice as well as an insight into the culture of the region. Students will learn the basics of the language and be able to build up enough knowledge to read and write to a beginner plus level.

The course continues to advance the student's grammar, reading and writing, while further developing an insight into the culture of the region. Students will go beyond the basics of the language and build up enough knowledge to read and write to an intermediate level.
The course continues to advance the student's grammar, reading and writing to an advanced level. Students will learn to talk about themselves and others, using dialogue to learn and explore multiple tenses and vocabulary.
Students attending this class will learn 150 Chinese words, basic grammar, the Pinyin system, and how to write simple characters.
In this introductory class, you’ll learn four tones, the sound system Pinyin, basic greetings and simple characters.
Students enrolled in this class will learn to take the beginner level HSK speaking test, have conversations on such topics as culture, sports, and careers, and know 200 basic words. They will understand the Pinyin system and how to use a Chinese dictionary.
