Attended: Cheesemaking 101

It is with a Heavy heart that I write this review. My wife and I were really looking forward to getting our hands dirty while learning the basics of cheese making. While it is clear our instructor was very passionate about the subject of cheese, she was not organized and her presentation delivery was poor and all over the place. We were under the impression from the course description this would be a hands on class. However we sat there and did nothing there was no hands on participation, it seemed overcrowded in the room, and she seemed a little flustered as she attempted to make cheese while speaking on the merits of cheese. As a result she did not do a particularly good job at either task. As we sat and listened to her rambling lecture. I couldn't help but feel I had been mislead as to the actual agenda of this class and its purpose. As a final note, the cheeses prepared in the class didn't turn out very good. We were pretty disappointed.

Really fun class-the teacher was funny (believe his name was Nick) and clearly passionate about Pickles, which I loved! ONLY "negative" would be that the class ran over and we were only able to bring home some of the items at the end of the class, and have to go back to the store to pick up the rest due to the teacher not timing everything correctly (and class DID run over, but thats ok!)

Attended: Whiskey 101: Palate and Pairing

Informative and delicious! Cara was a great teacher and we had a lot of fun.

Attended: Whiskey 101: Palate and Pairing

The Whiskey 101: Palate and Pairing class was fantastic. It could not have been better. Cara, our instructor, was terrific. She shared a good amount of information and encouraged class participation which i enjoyed. Holding the class at the cheese shop was great as it made the class experience feel more authentic. CourseHorse made signing up for the class seamless. They sent course reminders a few days in advance which was helpful/a nice touch. A wonderful event. I HIGHLY recommend.

Attended: Valentine's Day! Wine and Chocolate

It was fun. Perfect amount of information, good presentation style! Delicious and smart pairings and products. I bought the second cheese and chocolate and it was a hard decision. Cozy classroom and old school chalkboard. Great way to spend Valentines Day with my love!

Very Interesting and delicious class to attend. I came home with homemade butter and cheese. In addition, I learned very good cheesemaking techniques and tasted so many delicious cheeses. The instructor was very nice and answered so many questions.

Definitely recommend this. The cheese shop the class is in is awesome, the teacher is super cool and has great stories about how she got there and you get to eat cheese the whole time! This isn't really a hands on class though, you don't have your own station where you heat milk and stir things, so if that's what you're looking for you have been warned. They put a plate of cheese out for each person and a glass of wine to enjoy while the teacher makes cheese and tells you about the process and at the end you take the fresh made stuff home. My class was split 50/50 on the couple to singles ratio so don't be shy about going alone because chances are you won't be the only one.

Attended: Cheese and Beer: Summer Sessions

Fun, informative, delicious. Very good and engaging teacher.

Attended: Spring Cheese, Spring Wines, Spring Produce

We loved this course so much and highly recommend it to others! Laura, our instructor was extremely knowledgable and made it a fun time. The Bedford Cheese shop is awesome! The cheese, wines and produce were top notch. Makes for a different & fun date night!

Attended: The Magic of Olive Oil

Mr. Coleman was great. It is very rare to see someone so passionate about his subject. I learned a lot!

Attended: Chocolate, Bubbly and Cheese

It was a very full class which made for a fun date night although we couldn't hear the presenter as well as a smaller group would have. The chocolate, bubbly, and cheese were delicious and generously portioned.

Attended: Harvest Beer and Hearty Cheese with Nate McElroy

Loved this class! The cheesemonger/beermeister instructor was great, had lots of personal stories around his choices which always makes for a better context. Class was smallish which allowed us to get to know one another as we tasted. Would definitely go do this again. Thanks CourseHorse!
