Jazz Vocal Workshop

Students attending this class will learn tap into their inner soul diva while gaining valuable performance experience. Each week perform in front of your peers and rapidly strengthen your chops with the support of an experienced jazz vocal coach and a professional pianist. For three weeks out of the semester, students will rehearse and then perform with a professional jazz trio.

Students attending this class will learn the basic progressions, scales, and songs associated with blues in a friendly workshop atmosphere. It could be said that blues is the gateway to many American music genres, including jazz, broadway, salsa, and r&b. Note: An audition is required and knowledge of major scales is preferred.
