Refund & Cancellation Policy

Transferring to Another Session

Because space is limited and classes often fill up, students cancelling class last minute may prevent other students from signing up for that session. For this reason, we require that students who need to reschedule their registration within 72 hours prior to the class scheduled start time will be required to provide a 25% re-registration fee to transfer to another session.

We are here to guide you through class selection to make sure you benefit from our courses, so feel free to contact us for any questions regarding class selection, registration issues, or if you need to transfer to a different session.

Cancellations

While we encourage you to make every effort to attend your registered class, we understand if your situation changes unexpectedly. Unfortunately, the same situation applies with our limited capacity. Therefore, students who need to cancel their registration for whatever reason within 72 hours prior to class scheduled start time will be also be assessed a 25% cancellation fee from any refund requested.

No-Call No-Shows

We really appreciate when people let us know they can't make a class, even if it's last minute. In some cases there may be a student on the waiting list that we can offer that seat to. No-shows are rather unhelpful for this cause, and so we charge a 50% fee* to transfer or refund a registration in the situation of a no-call no-show.

Also, please note:
  • Gift certificates are non-refundable
  • Credits, promotional discounts, or any special arrangements will be one time per individual.

    Course Cancellation by BKC.
  • If less than 4 people are enrolled in a course we will cancel that class and offer students a full refund of the amount paid or a credit towards a new course within a month of the canceled course start date.
  • BKC reserves the right to change instructors if needed without prior notice.
  • If a class is cancelled because of weather conditions or illness of an instructor, BKC will schedule a make up session.

This was a fantastic class. The instructor was very kind, patient and answered everyone's questions. It was easy to understand her (the instructor) methods in the art of photography. This is a great class!!

Attended: Photography Field Guide I: The Camera

Excellent class. Learned an incredible amount about my camera, reinforced by ample shooting time. Kathy is wonderful teacher. She broke through my intimidation of all the menus and dials on my camera by demonstrating how simple the concepts really are. Her use of metaphors was a big help. My comprehension of how to use my camera is not only 100% more than it was before, but I am able to use what I learned in this class to actually understand the "Directions for Use" guide. I signed up for Field Guide II when I got home from this class.

Attended: Crash Course: DSLR (3 hours)

The place was hot the instructor didn't let us take a break. The course should be more hands on. The instructor didn't give the class time to take pictures. He also stayed on the same subjects too long. I feel he made the class not worth paying $60.00. I'am upset because I came home and learn how to really take nice pictures by logging on to you tube. You tube have a traing video on how to use the camera I have. The video have 17 parts however it's hands on and the video is broken up into the 17 parts. I don't recommend anyone taking this class. The instructor should've had different things for us to take photos

Attended: 5 Dollar Fridays: The Lowdown On Lenses

It was very informative

Attended: Crash Course: Quick and Dirty Portraits

Good foundation for those interested in taking better portraits.

Attended: Crash Course: DSLR (3 hours)

Fun and incredibly informative class. Instructor is very good at explaining the basics about photography for beginners. Looking forward to going back and taking some additional classes now that I have the basics covered!

Attended: To Dye For: An Intro to Fabric Dyes

The Fabric Dyes class was such a fun experience. Rawan was an amazing teacher, and super sweet. She really encouraged us to explore our creativity. I also enjoyed the intro to color theory and inspiration, but there was definitely tons of time to get our hands dirty and dye fabric. We started with swatches and then switched to larger tapestries. I loved experimenting with the colors, and the small class size really made it interactive and fun. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is interested - truly fun and a great learning experience!

Attended: DIY Printmaking: An Introduction

I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot. The instructor was knowledgeable and pleasant. The class materials were ample. Overall, a great experience!

Attended: 5 Dollar Fridays: Photoshop Basics

A great sampler course on the power of PhotoShop. Teaching was efficient and concise.

Attended: Crash Course: Quick and Dirty Portraits

This course was very well taught, informative and practical; I definitely plan on enrolling in more courses with BK Central!

Attended: Photography Field Guide I: The Camera

This class was excellent - I've had my dslr for 2 weeks and taking this class taught me all I needed to know to get going in Manual mode. The instructor was wonderful- she clearly explained all concepts and answered all questions. She was happy to show you how to find what you were looking for on your camera. The only thing that would have made this class better would have been if it was warmer out so we could have done more test shooting outdoors.

Attended: 5 Dollar Fridays: Composition

If you are into photography, great way to invest 1.5h and only 5$. Some useful tips about composition that, even though wont turn you into a Pulitzer award winner instantly, will awake the will to keep learning and taking better photos.

Attended: Crash Course: DSLR (3 hours)

I was very impressed with the organization of the course. The teacher explained the basics of photography - via camera obscura and daguerrotypes - and then easily segued into DSLR. We covered a lot of ground - shutter priority, aperture priority, white balance,, etc - but he presented the material in a clear consistent manner. The class was chock full of info and the entire three hours was devoted to teaching, asking questions, and using the camera. The teacher exhibited a deep knowledge of all types of cameras. I only wish he had given us a one page take away with some of the info he covered on the white board. It would have been great reference material . The facilities were terrific - edgy, professionial, interesting art on the walls. 5 stars

Attended: 5 Dollar Fridays: Photoshop Basics

The combination of the instructor and space provided for a highly effective learning experience at an absolute deal financially. To provide such an opportunity, in today's economy, is beyond admirable. I will absolutely attend a course in the future and with enthusiasm spread the word!

Attended: Crash Course: DSLR (3 hours)

Charles (instructor) was very informative and taught us the basics of DSLR in a simple, yet entertaining, manner. I would highly suggest this course if you have no photography experience but want to learn how your camera works as well as learning how to take pictures away from the auto setting. I would definitely take another course from this instructor and this studio.

Attended: DIY Printmaking: An Introduction

Caroline was an excellent instructor, and we learned amazingly easy printmaking techniques in just 3 hours! Would have loved more time to learn more/move to the next level, but I left with the skills to get printing on my own.

Attended: Photography Field Guide I: The Camera

I really enjoyed the Field Guide I Photography class. I've had my DSLR for a year and a half and I definitely feel I have a better understanding of how to use it and what those buttons really mean. Kathy broke everything down and was really helpful when we went outside to try our hand at setting aperture and shutter speed. I'm looking forward to getting creative with my pictures! If there is one thing I could recommend, and this is from someone who doesn't have any experience, is a more informative handout included with the syllabus. Perhaps include some helpful url's or tips to remember so students can refer to them after the course is complete. Other than that, I really enjoyed it! 6 hours wasn't enough!

Attended: Photography Workshop: Capture Autumn

Great facilitator. Wonderful content. Very hands on. A place to sit for the non field portion of the class would be better than just meeting informally. It was not the best location to hear new content. Otherwise, great experience! Second great photography workshop with BKC. :)

Attended: The Handmade Book: An Introduction

I liked the class. I kind of wished we learned one more technique. Something more complicated. The Japanese stitch was complicated and I really liked it but I wish there was something else. But otherwise I learned a lot and it was really interesting.

Attended: The Handmade Book: An Introduction

The course was good-- everything as described in the course description.

Attended: 5 Dollar Fridays: Lightroom Basics

It was really good, Charles is a very good teacher. I am going to see how my summer schedule is to see if I can take any more classes.
