Teacher: Sarah ZidonikSee Classes Taught by This Teacher »
Sarah was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in Micanopy, Florida, a small town known for its antique shops. She attended the University of Florida, where she received her B.A. in Art Education, her B.F.A. in Studio Art, and a minor in Art History. During her undergraduate career, Sarah volunteered with the Shands Hospital Arts in Medicine program and the International Fine Arts and Healing student group, with whom she traveled and worked in The Gambia, West Africa. In 2008 she journeyed across the country to pursue her M.F.A. from the University of Arizona, graduation in May 2011. Sarah’s experience volunteering and using art as a healing tool has influenced her studio work tremendously. The process of making the work is on par with, if not set above, the finished piece. Her M.F.A. thesis has involved over 300 participants along the way, and she hopes to continue engaging with her audiences in meaningful ways.
