Beginner Knitting

This class will turn you into a knitter once and for all. In this three two-hour sessions, you’ll learn the basics of knitting.

We can’t think of a better place to learn to knit than in our knitted-wallpaper classroom. Whether you’re a total beginner or you need a refresher, you’ll learn the basics of knitting including:

• Casting on
• Knit stitch
• Purl stitch
• Combining knit and purl to make stitch patterns
• Casting off
• Seaming
• Troubleshooting
  

This class is divided into three sessions because knitting is best learned when you have the opportunity to reinforce lessons over time. 

After each class, you’ll go home to practice for a week, then return for pointers from your teacher. By the end of three weeks, you’ll be comfortable enough with your new skills to tackle simple projects and continue to build your knitting prowess. Over the course of this class, you’ll work on either a scarf or a circular cowl in chunky wool.

Yarn and knitting needles will be provided, and are included in the cost of this class.
