The Advanced on Camera Class is a comprehensive, step by step course to develop the skills today’s actors need to work in the fast paced world of Film & Television. Like all of our classes we believe strongly in building a base of solid fundamentals in both acting and camera technique.
Our scene study classes focus on the art of storytelling. Each student will be taken on a journey of self discovery, developing their own unique way of working. You will learn about character creation, (what we call the Hero’s Journey), story analysis, and the power of relationship. Ultimately, you will rediscover the joy and simplicity of extraordinary storytelling
This four week consecutive Acting Class is offered for all levels of skill and experience. Join other actors on Monday evenings for a guided interactive exploration of the tools you need to grow and get work in film, television or theater.
Actors will build a solid foundation in “the reality of doing” and finding the truth within themselves. Through total commitment to this work, actors will meet the demands of any role. Classes are directed by instructor Ryan Tofil.
For this intensive, you'll start off with a Q&A, followed by prepared sides (emailed 1-2 days in advance) selected by Matthew, with a reader On-Camera in a group. Be prepared for extensive feedback as well as ready to take re-adjustments on the fly.
This class is geared towards providing the building blocks needed to act for film.
Each student directs two exercise projects of increasing complexity, and a final project in digital video, and edits on Apple Final Cut Pro stations.
This course is an ongoing drop-in class that focuses on how to create improvised scenes and stories.
